Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I subscribe to the magazine?
The best way to order a subscription is to order online. If you would prefer to have an invoice emailed to you, please send your name, address, phone number, and email address to email@example.com and request an invoice. You can then pay that invoice online or with a check to Etched by the Sea, PO Box 1910, Capitola CA 95010.
2. How do I renew my subscription?
If you ordered online, your subscription is set to automatically renew after one year. If you didn’t subscribe online, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can make sure your subscription doesn’t lapse. If your subscription was automatically renewed and you want to cancel, please send an email to email@example.com and we’ll take care of it.
3. When will my magazine subscription start?
Depending when you place your order, it might take 4-8 weeks before your first magazine is mailed out. If you subscribe to the magazine within a few weeks of a new issue coming out, your subscription will start with the following issue. This is because we send the mailing list for subscriptions to the printer up to a month before it is mailed. For example, if you order a subscription after August 1st, your first issue will be the November/December issue that will be mailed at the end of October. If you order after October 1st, your subscription will start with the January/February issue. Delivery time depends on where you live, as we ship worldwide.
4. Can I purchase back issues of the magazine?
Yes! A limited number of extra magazines of each issue are printed and are available for purchase, until stock runs out, on the Shop page. The best way to guarantee that you won’t miss an issue is to subscribe online, because once an issue is sold out, it is no longer available. We are hoping to make them available online in the future. In the meantime, many of the articles from sold out issues are available for reading online.
5. When will my back issue order arrive?
If you order a back issue of the magazine, your order will usually be shipped within a week. Delivery time depends on where you live, as we ship worldwide.
6. What if my magazine never arrived?
If you subscribed or ordered a back issue of the magazine and it didn’t arrive in a reasonable amount of time, or if you seem to have missed delivery of an issue, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know. We don’t want you to miss a thing!
7. How do I get my photos and stories printed in the magazine?
We are always looking for great beachcombing stories and photos of your beach finds! We love images of beach decor; your best sea glass, beach glass, shell, and other finds; coastal craft ideas; photos of your two- and four-legged beachcombing buddies; and more. Take a look at the Shop page to see what some of the stories are that we’ll be covering in upcoming issues, and see the guidelines for submissions on the Contact page. Please send your story ideas and photos to email@example.com.
8. Can I be the featured collector or artisan in the magazine?
We’d love to know about your awesome beachcombing collection or the art, jewelry, and crafts you create with your finds. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the details and we’ll see if we can fit your story in an upcoming issue.
9. Can I advertise in the magazine?
You betcha! Reach an engaged group of beach lovers by advertising in the printed magazine and/or online. Check out the details on the Advertising page or email us at email@example.com with your questions. We can help you create your ad for a nominal fee.
10. Got another question?
